Mr. Gilliland has been a long-time supporter of and volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America Scouting program.  In April 2008 Scott was invited to join the Mid-America Council (Boy Scouts of America) Board of Trustees.  He has been involved with the non-traditional (Exploring/Learning for Life) side of Scouting since 1994.  Scott was awarded his Eagle Scout in 1981.
